Criterion Coworking is the dream and vision of two Fort Worth entrepreneurs and Near Southside residents, Matt Townsend and Janice Dotti Townsend.
After opening up the first location of Roots Coffeehouse in 2009 (Janice) and launching Freeform Made in 2012 (Matt), Matt & Jan struggled to find a community of like-minded entrepreneurs to learn from, grow with, and work amongst. Thus, the vision for Criterion was born - a space where serious entrepreneurs and business owners could work together in an inspired space and find resources to grow their business, lead a balanced life, and do their best work.
A criterion is a reference point or standard by which other things can be evaluated; as entrepreneurs, we need other people in our lives to push us to do our best work. That is what Criterion Coworking is - a reference point for doing your best work.
After purchasing a building off Bryan Ave in the Near Southside two days before Christmas of 2016, Matt & Janice have been working for months on the design and function of this new space to make it ideal for business owners and entrepreneurs to work from. The nearly 8,000 square foot 400 Bryan Project will house not only Criterion Coworking, but also a Fort Worth location of Roots Coffeehouse.
Launching in 2019.
